2009.05.10 Food at Home

Well, I cheated, this is not homemade. I bought some Margaritaville brand

ISLAND LIME SHRIMP Oversized shrimp in a savory Caribbean Citrus Sauce.

Takes 10 minues medium on a sauce pan and just let the sauce melt and cook!

My family made some Chinese sausage fried rice. Eggs, carrots, peas, salt, pepper, great combo with the shrimps!

Ika: Fresh Squids, has a special texture, just a bit slimy, sweet, and a little bit of a crunch as you bite into it. I don't even want rice with this, just plain is one of the best way to serve this!

Like I said earlier....you don't want to, well, I don't want to have sushi without UNI.

There are a few interesting ways to enjoy them.

1. Straight, with a light dip in soy sauce.

2. Add a few drops of lemon juice on it, which will reduce some of the Uni taste, but very refreshing.

3. Eat it sushi style.

4. $10 for the whole box!

At $60 a pound, this was one fish that melted in my mouth. Tuna Belly FAT is kind of hard to find. Surprizingly, we saw this at Mitsuwa Market. I quickly grabbed a pack to bring home to try it out! Ohtoro is the fattest part of the Tuna Belly. YUM. Omega-3 anyone?

As expected, this fish was a burst of flavor, it totally melted in my mouth, others would say sensory overload. All that is left on the plate from the aftermath was drops of oil that remained. This one, I will try again and again.
